Objectives:

That these tauira will be expected to participate in all off-site programmes such as Kura-a-waho. Rere Runga Rawa/Self-directed learning, will be in full use for selected subjects. Cultural standards will be more familiar to these tauira and some practice should be transparent.

Tauira will be able to practice fully the cultural standards they have been living for the past 10 or so years. High achievement will be the priority focus of all tauira. Students will take every opportunity to participate fully in all levels of education.

National Certificate Educational Achievements will help direct tauira towards their chosen career. Other important objectives are:

  1. Mahere roa/ Aromatawai kura
  2. Marautanga-a-iwi
  3. Tupohotanga – Whanganuitanga
  4. Whanaungatanga


Matua and whanau of all tauira are encouraged to be supportive of all programmes that the kura has planned for Pourua, and to encourage tauira to graduate and be prepared to help guide other tauira towards further tertiary studies or employment. Iwi initiatives are also a priority, as this age group is becoming more aware and career orientated.


Timetable:

Timata, ruruku – 8.50am

Kai timo – 10.00am-10.10am

Kai timo – 11.30am-11.40am

Kai nui – 1.00pm-2.00pm

Mutunga, Ruruku – 3.00pm
