Korero Whakatakoto (Mission Statement)

The purpose of Te Kura o Kokohuia is to ensure all tauira attain their highest level of educational achievement based on Te Atihaunui-a-Paparangi values, knowledge, beliefs, skills and institutions.

A Safe and Caring Environment

Making sure that tauira are secure, welcome and ready to learn is a high priority for Te Kura o Kokohuia. Learning to take responsibility for their own progress and behaviour is a focus for each tauira.

We expect consistent and fair management in classrooms so that kaiako are able to provide variety in their class activities and tauira are free to learn to the best of their ability. Senior tauira assist junior tauira as peer associates, in whanau ropu groups, on the kura council, through sports coaching, in kapahaka and during off-site activities.

This role modelling supports the junior tauira while providing leadership experience for the senior tauira.

Te Tutohinga (Kura Charter)

Every three years, Te Kura o Kokohuia develops a Kura Charter that describes our future focus for tauira supported by our Poari Matua (Board), kaimahi and whanau.

Purongo a Tau (2021)

Every year the kura together with the Board of Trustees develops an Annual Plan based on specific targets and planned actions based on student achievement from the previous year.  Take a look at what has been planned for the 2021 academic year.

Purongo Tataritanga (March 2021)

This year, as part of the Analysis of Variance, the kura has made some comparisons from 2020 to guide where efforts are best placed in order to lift student achievement.
